Abstract:
This manuscript contains an utenzi that is the translation into Swahili of a story contained in the famous book ‘One an a thousand nights’. The title of the story is ‘The Story of Baba Abdalla the Blind’. The author of the translation, Ahmad Nassir Juma Bhalo, had chosen to put the story into poetic verses. The utenzi begins with the salutation to Allah, a typical features of Swahili utenzi genre, before translating the story. ( en )
