Mwalimu Sikujua was Taylor’s main informant, and he provided the missionary with many Swahili manuscripts. Most probably Hichens acquired the letter through Alice Werner. The letters are dated 1885 (1 letter) and 1887 (14 letters) and are concerned mainly with personal matters, and not with Swahili manuscripts. They are all handwrittn in Arabic script.
