Abstract:
As noted in the previous record of this MS, this manuscript is the final draft copy of the material found in MS 53492. Therefore a more exhaustive description can be found in MS 53492. In this section we thus find the famous Hadithi ya Liongo, with an additional copy written in blue ink. Specific to this MS, we also find the following items: - a copy of an article by Alice Werner entitled ‘A traditional poem attributed to Liongo Fumo. With Notes on his Legend’; - 3 letters of correspondence between the British Museum, Hichens, and Alice Werner; - 1 page, in Swahili, about the Segeju people, in relation to Liyongo, from ‘Habari za Mrima’ by Sh. Ali bin Hemedi el-Buhuriy; - 3 leaves of the ‘Hadithi ya Liongo na Nduuyakwe Mdogo’, as told by Juma bin Mbwana. ( en )
