“...Following Allister's death, our Chairman of C.S.A., Toronto Branch, Vivian Gonder, received a letter from "Composers, Authors and Publishers Association of Canada Limited" which reads in part - For many years, the late Senator Allister Grosart has been associated with CAPAC as Editor and Publisher of the "Canadian Composer" which has been dedicated, since its inception in the mid 1960's to promoting Canadian composers, lyric writers and publishers of music, and their contribution to Canada. Because of this close association the Board of Directors, Members and Management and Staff of CAPAC, are happy to forward the enclosed cheque payable to the Chefoo Schools Association, in the amount of $500.00 to be used in the furtherance of the work of the Association. “...Wi1liam Hunt: Chefoo - 1909-1913 - died in Laguna Hills, California on Oct.27th, 1983. He came to the U.S. at 17, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin and Rush Medical College of the University of Illinois.A fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, he was an ear, nose and throat specialist in private practice in Santa Barbara, CA from 1928 to World War II, when he volunteered in the U.S. Navy and served as a Commander in San Diego, Australia and the Philippines. He is survived by one sister, two daughters, 5 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren. Since 1974 he had been actively interested in the Chefoo Schools Association, and he and his wife attended a summer Reunion in Toronto in June 1977, while on a trip to the Eastern States. Ralph Pei 11: - who attended Chefoo School in the 1920's died in Britain in July 1983. He graduated in medicine at Edinburgh University in 1933, and had a distinguished career as a doctor and an air pilot. During World War II he saw service...”
