General Note:
Biographical history: Kartar Singh Duggal was born into a Sikh family in 1917 in Dhamal, near Rawalpindi. He was educated at Forman Christian College, Lahore. In March 1947, he was working for All India Radio in Lahore. In early August 1947 he was transferred to All India Radio in Delhi. He witnessed the Delhi riots. Duggal became station Director for All India Radio. He became a noted author of short stories, novels, plays and literary criticism. He married Ayesha Duggal (née Jafri), a doctor from a Muslim family.
General Note:
Biographical history: Ayesha Duggal (née Jafri) was born in a Muslim family from Aligarh. During Partition, she was a studying medicine at Lady Harding Medical College in Delhi. Duggal worked with abducted Muslim women in Jallandhar following Partition. She married Kartar Singh Duggal, a Sikh writer.
