The second envelope, AL/2, contains the report of the Makerere Travelling Theatre. . AL/3 contains material, both in English and French, about the World Festival of Negro Arts that was held in Dakar in 1965. AL/4 contains also a series of articles about the development of African literature, including and article on the literature of East and Central Africa by E Wright, and an article by R Green entitled ‘The future of literature at Dar’, both dated 1966. AL/5 contains a bibliography about oral literature in Africa, in French, by V Gorog, dated 1968. . AL/6 to AL/9 contains respectively the following undated articles: . - ‘Symbolism in African verbal art’ by D C Crowley. - ‘Approaches to Oral Literature in Africa’ by unknown author. - ‘A Multi-Dimensional approach to Oral Literature’ by Hedda Jason. - ‘Bibliographie de la literature Negro-Africaine d’expression francaise’ compiled by R Mercier. . - AL/10 contains the transcript of a lecture on Chagga philosophy, probably part of a university course in African philosophy.
