Abstract:
The first section of MS 47759 contains manuscript material written by Dr Buttner, a 19th century German scholar who studied Swahili literature and wrote two books on the subject. The few pages contained here discuss ethnographic and sociological issues relating to the Swahili people (referred as Suahelis) in the typical language of the time. ( en )
