Abstract:
This manuscript contains a chart of Swahili grammar as compiled by Taylor for publication by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge in 1898. The information provided is mainly related to the class system and its concords, with examples. Taylor referred to the table as ‘The groundwork of the Swahili language’ for the use of those learning Swahili in East Africa and elsewhere.
