Notes

Abstract:
This is another manuscript of the maulid contained in MS 380561. After the maulid of eleven sections, it contains poems composed in Swahili: one in which the author begs God for forgiveness for his sins, one praising the Prophet, and one on the benefits of reading the maulid. Part of the latter poem appears in the preface of MS 380561, with Muhamman bin Othman identified as the author. The poem praising the Prophet appears only in this manuscript, and because it is unsigned some uncertainty remains as to its authorship. ( en )
