Abstract:
This portion of MS 53829 discusses the historical background of the Witu sultanate and relations between Witu, Zanzibar, Germany and England during the sultanate’s tenure. It also contains a note on Suud bin Hamed, who was appointed liwali by the sultan of Zanzibar in AH 1255 and ‘presented to Queen Victoria’ in AH 1306 (AD 1888). ( en )
