The authors of this portion of MS 53829 consider the economic condition of Lamu around 1934, with a generally pessimistic outlook. Their notes include the lumber trade. A note on the (European) medical personnel working in Lamu circa 1927 and on the incidence of eight communicable diseases in the year 1922 is also included. ( en )
