Notes
- Abstract:
- This miscellaneous section contains material on the history of Swahili poetry from its origins. The material looks at the Arab, Persian, and Bantu influence in Swahili poetry, and includes a diagram designed to illustrate these relationships. Because Hichens was trying to provide a historical background to the study of Swahili poetry, he also included general historical information about the Coast and its history. As in the Other items of this file, here too the pages are loose and the information seem quite scattered. Careful perusal is required. ( en )
