520 3    |a In the Koran and the Hadithi, Isra refer to when the Angel takes the Prophet from Mecca to Jerusalem, and Mirarji refers to the passage from the Jerusalem to Heaven. In the Swahili context, the whole journey is called Miraji, and it is rendered as a Swahili epic based upon a well known book of Sunni traditions entitled ‘Mishkatu ‘l-Masabih. This hadithi, which is based on the long Utenzi catalogued in this manuscript as MS 53497h, was given to Hichens by Muhammad Kijumwa, who transcribed the Hadithi as well as the Utenzi. In this hadithi, the religious story is enhanced with additional mythical, or fictitious, elements, but this version is not finished, and the reader should refer to the Utenzi for a more complete version.
