- Abstract:
- This section of MS 53489 contains an historical account on the history of Lamu by Shaibu Faraji bin Ahmed al-Bakariy al-Lamuy, dated November 1899. As noted by Hichens in the foreword, this copy was made to the order of Abdallah bin Hamed, Wali of Lamu, c.1897. The collector has included few copies in KiSwahili with his English translation. There are also handwritten notes on the side of some pages. ( en )
