- Abstract:
- This section of MS 53489 contains various writings on the history of East Africa. The title refers to an unknown publication by Macmillan, London, 1930, of which we only have five typescript leaves. Three leaves refer to the book ‘Literary History of Persia’ by E.G. Browne, and two leaves refer to the book by Freya Stark ‘The Southern Gates of Arabia’ (1936). Other typescript leaves includes general notes by the collector from various historical publications. At the end of this section, we also find a letter to Hichens from the Trade and Information Colonial Office stating Crops and Livestock statistics for the Mkalama District. ( en )
