This section of MS 53489 contains miscellaneous historical information on various places and people on the East Africa coast and beyond. It lists the Mazrui Dinasty lineage with map of the area attached. It also includes the translation from a Portuguese book (1918) on the history and geography of the East Africa coast written by Duarte Barbosa, with notes by Dame Mansel Longworth. The book describes the early history of the Coast as linked to places like Arabia, Persia, western India, as well as describing the history of Mombasa, Sofala, Lamu, Zanzibar islands, Kilwa, et al.
