Notes
- Abstract:
- This utenzi describes the punishments to be endured after death by Muslims who neglect to pray. The original is written in Arabic script without vowel markers. This omission, combined with errors in writing, makes the manuscript extremely difficult to read. The transliteration, identified as being that of William Taylor, also presents challenges in terms of legibility. Large sections of Taylor’s transliteration are accompanied by literal English translation, often faintly written above the Swahili lines. ( en )
