Notes

Abstract:
This is a typescript of the Utenzi wa Barasisi, which narrates the temptation and demise of the monk Barasisi. MS 210010b provides notes on the story. Lyndon Harries (1964) and Jan Knappert (1999) also discuss the poem; worth noting are comments by Harries on the authorship of the poem, which, he argues, cannot definitely be known. The typescript contains errors, and the page containing verses 110-119 is missing. ( en )
