- Abstract:
- This is the second part of MS 193291, which contains a collection of Swahili songs. At the beginning of this section, there are eight small pages with a list of lyric verses and notes. The section also contains songs of various types like popular songs, love songs, folk-song, song addressed to the sea. Interestingly, there is also a song by Muyaka, apparently in Kingozi (archaic Swahili), with Taylor’s name at the top right corner of the page. Like the first part of the manuscript, this section also contains notes and translation done by Hichens, which suggest that this was his notebook. ( en )
