Notes

Abstract:
This manuscript contains an uncompleted hadithi, with English tranlation, about the life of the epic hero Liongo Fumo. The beginning of the story narrates of the relationship between Liongo and his younger brOther, at the time of their father’s death, when the inheritance of the kingdom has to be assessed. Both brOthers wish to be the successor and in order to achieve this a war break off, which saw Liongo in difficulty, at least at the beginning. There are no relevant publications about this story, however because it concerns Liongo, we can suggest that it may have been originally written in Arabic and transliterated by Kijumwa who did so for many Liongo’s stories. Most of Kijumwa collection is described in Mohammed Abou Egl’s PhD thesis. ( en )
