Notes
- Abstract:
- The title of this hadithi is a methali (proverb) and the story explains its meaning and implied wisdom. As per the title, which can be translated as ‘What you get is inside your clothes’, the moral is that your best friend can be your best enemy because he/she knows all about you and can use it against you. The fact that this short story is based on a methali clearly shows that it is part of Swahili oral tradition and literature. ( en )
