|a This section contains two historical Utendi about the history of the Swahili. The first Utendi narrates the events of the King of Pate when he went to Lamu to impose taxation on the use of land by means of a percentage of the harvest. The poem continues with the narration of the history of the Mazrui dynasty and the history of the Sultans of Zanzibar. The second poem narrates the history of Siu at the time of King Bwana Mataka. This utendi ends with a waadhi, religious admonition. The historical information were given to the author in 1227AH, 1812AD, and the author composed the poem in 1357AH, 1938AD. |
