The song is in the Utumbuizo genre and narrates of the wedding of Liyongo’s sister at the court of King Daudi Mwingwari. The Gungu drum is played to call the guests to come to the wedding ceremony that is also attended by Liyongo’s brOther, Bw. Shaha and by Bwana Mwengo. The same song is found in the Hichens collection (MS 205000), a version of which was published by Knappert (1979, p. 76-78).
