|a This manuscript contains a collection of Islamic poetry in Arabic praising the Prophet Mohammed. There are also a few Swahili poems also praising the Prophet Mohammed. Most of poems are either short or incomplete, and do not provide name of authors or date of composition. The fifth and seventh poems of the collection are about Sufims and Islamic mysticism, however no name of author is provided. These poems are followed by a Dua, invocation to God, by Sayyid Abdurrahman. The final three poems (from page 32 of the MS to the end) are Swahili poems praising the Prophet Mohammed, with one poem discussing the practice of fasting during Ramadhan. |
