- Abstract:
- This MS contains, first, 9 pages of narrative about the life of the Prophet Mohammed, including his lineage. This seems to be part of a book that has not been fully reproduced here. Afterwards, there is a prayer for the Prophet, in Arabic. This section about the Prophet is followed by a section of information about the Abu Bakr, one of the Prophet’s companion. Then, there is a Dua, religious admonition, by Nabhany. Finally, there is another version of the famous Waadhi wa Sh. Abdalla al-Huniy, already described in Mss 380766 (Yahya), 360 and 364, in 279888-vol. 8. (Allen). ( en )

- Biographical information: Sheikh Abdalla al-Husniy was born in Mombasa at the beginning of 1900 in a family that originated from Hadramaut. He studied Islamic teaching with Sh. Said bin Ahmed, a well-known religious scholar. Sh. Abdalla became a Sheikh at the Anisa Mosque where he tought for many years and where he was buried in 1955. -- He was known for organising the Maulidi celebration, in the Anisa mosque, that was attended by many people from the Coast. After the maulidi he used to composed his famous waadhi, of which this one is an example. Sh. Abdalla was Yahya Ali Omar’s religious teacher.
