She participated in the 18-day sit-in in Tahrir Square in January-February 2011 and other protests calling for an end to military rule and against sexual violence against women protesters. After the 18 days, Sally became involved in Tahrir Monologues, a theatre group retelling stories from the revolution and co-founded Baheya Ya Masr and the online campaigning group, ‘The Uprising of Women in the Arab World’.
