- 2 - EDITORIAL NOTE The usual format of the Bulletin has been dropped for this special extended issue, which presents a catalogue of the collection of colour slides taken, mainly in the Braj region, during the IAVRI Research Project. This collection comprises part of the documentation programme which was an important aspect of the Project. As has been noted in the introduction, a total of over 4,500 photo- graphs, both colour and black-and-white, were taken under the Project. It is hoped that a full catalogue of the entire collection will be published in the future; in the meantime, it has been decided to publish here a list of all the colour slides, since there are likely to prove the most useful items for schools, libraries and other institutions. As well as represent- ing in some detail many aspects of the Braj region in particular, the slide collection may be used as background material for the study and teaching of Indian religion and culture in a more general context. Details of the availability of the materials listed here will be found in the introduction. The sixth issue of the Bulletin, which will return to the usual format, will be published in the summer of 1979, and future issues will continue to be published at six-monthly intervals. Contributions for future issues will be gratefully received. * We are pleased to report that progress is continuing to be made on the publication programmes of the VRI and of the IAVRI. Dr. T.P.
