The Central Asia digital collection at SOAS is growing. It comprises the holdings from the following countries:
- Afghanistan
- Kazakhstan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Tadjikistan
- Turkmenistan
- Uzbekistan
Digitisation of Central Asian holdings began at SOAS with the Islamic Manuscripts Gallery, a joint project with Yale University in the USA, and now part of a larger Islamic Manuscripts Oline collection. While both hold a selection of Central Asian content, these manuscript collections also hold materials from Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
More information about our physical holdings - the collection that we are digitising - is also available.
Digitisation of Middle Eastern holdings began at SOAS with the Islamic Manuscripts Gallery, a joint project with Yale University in the USA, and now part of a larger Islamic Manuscripts Oline collection. While both hold a majority Middle East content, these manuscript collections also hold materials from Africa, Central Asia and Southeast Asia.
