Abstract:
The 2015 earthquake not only destroyed houses, but also sources of income such as this eatery. Because of its location by the roadside, an eatery of this type is very popular with passersby and locals, yet the owner has not been able to rebuild a new one, instead operating out of the damaged house. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
