The temple of Vatsala Devi in front of the Bhaktapur Palace is being reconstructed using traditonal knowledge and materials. Behind the statue of king Bhupatindra Malla on a column is the eight-sided Chyasalin Mandap, (left of the photo) that was rebuilt before the earthquake by a German project using concrete and steel trusses.
