Notes
- General Note:
- The village of Laprak was badly damaged as it lies near the epicentre of the 25 April 2015 eathquake. The villagers built temporary shelters at Gupsipakha, about 600 metres above Laprak, and spent more than a year there. In November 2016, the government gave permission to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) to build 573 houses for the people of Laprak at Gupsipakha. The construction was planned to be completed within a year, but it was unfinished even after three years. While funding is mainly by NRNA, the Nepal Army has been involved in the construction phase and other INGOs are involved in water supply and road connection for the new settlement.
- General Note:
- Funded by GCRF (Global Challenges Research Fund) through AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council), Grant number AH/P003648/1, as "After the Earth's Violent Sway: the tangible and intangible legacies of a natural disaster", Dr. Michael Hutt, Principal Investigator.
