Notes

General Note:
The Kasthamandap, supposed to have been built from the timber of a single tree, was completely destroyed in the earthquake. Its reconstruction became a bone of contention between the government agency and the locals and activists on maintaining authenticity not only in design but also in the use of materials. Its reconstruction is ongoing at the moment (2020).
General Note:
Funded by GCRF (Global Challenges Research Fund) through AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council), Grant number AH/P003648/1, as "After the Earth's Violent Sway: the tangible and intangible legacies of a natural disaster", Dr. Michael Hutt, Principal Investigator.
