- General Note:
- Junbesi lies on the old trekking route to the Everest region. The main inhabitants are Sherpas but there is also a significant Tibetan refugee population. The Thub bstan chos gling monastery that was established by a Tibetan lama for the Tibetan refugees who settled in Junbesi houses one of the largest nunneries in Nepal.
