General Note:
The earthquake affected rural farming families severely, causing damage to not only their houses but also to sheds used for animals and as storage spaces. In this photo, many houses have been completely destroyed while others are still standing with their roofs patched with plastic and tarpaulin sheets. Note the wood slats used for roofing in the still-standing houses.
