- General Note:
- Helambu region is the home of the Yolmo, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. Though they are closely related to the Sherpas to their east, their history and cultural practices differ considerably. They practice Buddhism and this monastery is administered by the abbot of the Boudhanath in Kathmandu. This monastery like others is slowly being reconstructed.
