Notes

General Note:
Helambu region is the home of the Yolmo, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. Though they are closely related to the Sherpas to their east, their history and cultural practices differ considerably. They practise Buddhism and this monastery is administered by the abbot of the Boudhanath in Kathmandu. This monastery like others is slowly being reconstructed.
General Note:
Funded by GCRF (Global Challenges Research Fund) through AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council), Grant number AH/P003648/1, as "After the Earth's Violent Sway: the tangible and intangible legacies of a natural disaster", Dr. Michael Hutt, Principal Investigator.
