General Note:
Classical Persian music, sung by Toraj Kiaras accompanied by Amir Sam on the setar. “Ocean of the Heart” (Darya-ye Del) is a setting of a 19th century Persian Sufi poem (ghazal) by Habib Khurasam in the mode (dastgdh) Mdhur. The setting begins with an overture (daramad) played as a setar solo. The poem is then elaborated through particular sub-modes (gusheh): Nasirkhdm, Muradkhdrii, Azarbdyjdm, Gushdyish and Hisdr. The solo overture reappears to form a final codetta.
