- Biographical history: Sheila Sen Gupta, née Bose was the daughter of Suresh Chadra Bose and niece of Subhas Chandra Bose. She was active in relief work following the Noakhali riots, and later in 1950 worked on relief in Delhi with Mridula Sarabhai, where she helped return women abducted during the Partition period.
