Biographical history: Jolly Mohan Kaul was a trade unionist active in the Kidapur port area of Caluctta [Kolkata] in 1946. He was secretary of the Port Trust Employees Association, one of the largest trade unions in Calcutta. He was member of the district committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI). He participated in a CPI-led trade union march to the Maidan on Direct Action Day. He spent the evening h
