Biographical history: Syed Nazimuddin Hashim was educated at Presidency College, Calcutta [Kolkata]. He was in Calcutta at the time of Direct Action Day in 1946. He later became an Information Minister in the government of Hussain Muhammad Ershad; and ambassador to Myanmar [Burma] and Russia.
