- Biographical history: Shingara Singh a Jat Sikh was from Sultanwind, near Amritsar. In the build up to Partition he was involved in murder of Muslims in Amritsar. He was jailed for about two weeks in Lahore but released following Independence. His family owns farmland near village of Rampura.
