General Note:
Biographical history: Ram Dev, a Hindu. In spring 1947 he was in Lahore working for Punjab University. A member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was arrested and detained for involvement in rioting in Lahore (which he later denied). Dev was sent to Amritsar several months later, following Partition, as part of exchange of prisoners.

Biographical history: Krishna Devi was from West Punjab. In 1947 she stayed in Channiot camp before travelling to India. She was the wife of Ram Dev.
