General Note:
Biographical history: Professor Jamaluddin Naqvi was born in Allahabad circa 1932-1933. He moved to Pakistan in 1949 and joined the Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) around 1951. He was a member of the CPP Politburo between c 1962-1990 and also acting-Secretary of CPP. He was a prominent CPP intellectual and theorist. He was jailed first in 1954 and on other occasions, including 1980-1986 during the Jam Saki case. He left the CPP in 1990.
