Provenance: Formerly part of the library of the Orientalist and linguist William Marsden (1754-1836), a portion of which he presented to King's College London in 1835. A selection of William Marsden's manuscript collection, including this volume, was transferred from King's College London to SOAS University of London shortly after the School's foundation in 1916. The volume was presented to William Marsden by Alexander Dalrymple on condition that it be returned to Dalrymple should it ever be separated from the Marsden Collection or "sent out of England".
