General Note:
On the back of the photograph is written: 'L. to R. - Mr Evans, a deacon, the minister, Mary, another Malagasy, [and] myself. In water - Malagasy boy and Oliver. The bridge is about 1 ft. wide (two planks of 6" or so) [and] about 10 ft above the water. Having no rail, it was a ticklish thing to cross, in fact the Malagasy insisted on helping th women-folk by taking their hand. Still, we found the incident quite thrilling.'
