- Inversed stamped in red, "Photo de Coma…" [Comarmond : text obscured by tape]. -- According to Julien Mallet in "Le tsapiky, une jeune musique de Madagascar" (Paris : Karthala, 2009. p. 53), Raoul de Comarmond was a Columbia Pictures and Odeon photographer who was assigned to Madagascar in 1925 and soon developed an interest in recorded sound. He was based in Antananarivo.
