General Note:
George Blaker Blaker was born 30 September 1912 in Simla, India -- a hill station in the Himalayan foothills. He died 28 November 2001 in Surrey, England. George Blaker was the son of Colonel William Frederick Blaker. He was married to Richenda Dorothy Buxton, daughter of Reverend Arthur Buxton and Esme Caroline Pixley. The Simla, India, of 1912 was a hill station in the Himalayan foothills. Mr. Blaker was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge where he read History and Modern Languages, eventually learning Arabic, Farsi, and Hindi. He joined the UK Foreign Service and was entually transferred to the Ministry of Economic Warfare, serving as Personal Assistant to the Head of the Intelligence Department. After the Second World War, Mr. Blaker worked in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China and Burma.
