520 3    |a Santemo and Yanasao wearing blue lengtas, or loin cloths, tied first round the waist to form a belt, then drawn up between the legs so that the broad flap hangs down in front. The cloth has narrow red stripes for Southern Lhotas (on left),and broad red stripes for Northern Lhotas. The man on the left wears armlets of elephant tusks and wristlets of cowries sewn onto a cloth foundation and ornamented with a fringe of red hair, showing that he has participated in a head-taking ceremony. This is also signified by the neck ornament of boar's tusks worn by the other man. The man on the left wears a tight necklet made of black plantain seeds, and longer necklaces made of worked shell and beads.
