Notes
- Abstract:
- Pack ponies being loaded with covered carrying baskets. There were not many areas accessible by bridle paths in the Naga Hills, but when necessary the loads would be carried by porters recruited locally from the villages. A Gurkha soldier of the Assam Rifles is loading one of the ponies. He wears his kukri at his belt - the equivalent of the Naga dao. ( en )
