520 3    |a Dimapur was the former capital of the Kachari kings which flourished here until the fifteenth century. The two huge carved stone monuments, one male and one female, are elaborately carved. They are examples of the many stone monuments in the area which probably commemorate sacrifcial feasts and fertility rites and have direct parallels with the Naga Feasts of Merit.
